Welcome to the Bunkhouse!

We are surrounded on all sides by the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area of Jefferson National Forest with access to literally hundreds of miles of the most beautiful horse trails available!

The main house, barn including tack room, and pastures are yours to use during your visit.  The small cabin at the entrance gate is not currently being rented and should remain locked.  The workshop behind the main house is for the owners’ use only.  The master bedroom/bath closet and three locked cabinets next to the refrigerator are also for owners use only.

• You will need to supply your own bed linens, towels, paper products.  We have 1 King, 1 Queen, 2 single beds and 2 full baths.  Washer and dryer are available.  Be sure water supply to washer is turned on at wall supply behind washer.  Turn off at check out. 
• The main pasture (in front of the house and beside barn) and lower pasture (along driveway) have “hot wire” but all gates can be used safely.  Main pasture circuit breaker is in tack room in case of emergency.  Lower pasture is solar powered and can be switched off at panel beside top gate.
• Paddocks behind barn and workshop are not electrified.
• Horses have access to the creek in lower pasture.
• Frost-free faucets are located at barn, in side yard, at back door of house, and at workshop.
• Instructions for satellite TV and DVD are written on remote control.
• The gas logs instructions are located on the fireplace hearth.
• Prior to check-out, please muck the barn and grounds using the muck buckets found under the barn overhang, and place them outside barn door.  Leave bagged household garbage outside the backdoor.
• Flea-less, housebroken dogs are welcome inside at night.
• Please, no smoking in house or barn. 

We are closely associated with Danny and Sheila Odom, the owner/operators of Iron Mountain Horse Camp located at the Arrowhead Drive entrance off of VA 602.
